News from the north: Plant expansion in Skultuna

Our plant in Skultuna has impressively demonstrated how our sites adapt to new requirements during project start-ups: Three years ago, a project was launched to introduce the new PPE electric platform. The plant switched from manufacturing crash boxes to welding crash management systems. This had a significant impact on internal logistics - the material flow had to be made more efficient.

A decisive step was the construction of a new warehouse between the forming and welding machines. The new warehouse - completed in just five months - enables potential savings of more than 20 hours per shift for internal logistics processes.

Thanks to the revised logistics concept, Skultuna was able to make the material flow considerably more efficient. Thus made an important contribution to the successful implementation of the PPE project.

Milestone in Tianjin: Production of the one millionth rear subframe

In August, the BENTELER component plant in Tianjin celebrated a significant milestone: the 1,000,000th MRA2 subframe rolled off the production line.

Our customers, the right support and an outstanding team are the cornerstones that have contributed to the successful development of our plant in recent years.

The focus on quality in production has led to the Tianjin plant becoming an important pillar for premium OEMs. For our customers, BENTELER has become an important partner in improving safety and performance.

BENTELER plant in Shenyang celebrates its 10th anniversary

The city of Shenyang in north-eastern China is one of the up-and-coming Chinese cities characterized by a diverse economy.

In addition to the chemical industry and high-tech, the mechanical engineering and vehicle construction sector is one of the main pillars of the economy. For BENTELER, it is relevant that one of our customers has the world's largest production site there. In addition, our own plant in Shenyang is one of the most important production facilities for the Chinese automotive industry.

In July, the 10th anniversary was celebrated with guests, customers and employees.

The plant was put into operation in April 2014 with the founding of BENTELER Automotive (Shenyang) Co. Ltd. and has continued to develop rapidly. Mass production after two years, commissioning of the second area after three years and successful start of production in 2019. This enabled us to meet growing customer requirements.

But that's not all: the continuous development of the market meant that the original assembly line at our plant could no longer meet the increasing production requirements. A new plant was planned, and construction was completed within nine months. This collaboration marked a new chapter in the partnership between the two companies.
